Thermal management is critical for a wide variety of products. The performance limits of conventional cooling have been reached. TF&F’s PLMC™ platform has been used in the following applications: 

 

• Precision Microcooling—microprocessors, high performance memory, and similar devices. We work with top OEMs who require our platform’s high-performance and reliability.

 

• Data Center Products and Engineered Systems—wireless and conventional telecom equipment, modular data centers, conventional data center hot spots, and server-room cooling. The telecom industry has decided refrigerant-based cooling is the wave of the future, due to smartphone data consumption.

 

• Industrial Power Electronics—large motor drives from large utilities to factories. Our technology will be used in the snow-making machines at the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia.

 

• Hybrid and Electric Vehicles—IGBT (insulated gate bipolar transistor). We cool the power electronics and battery without the use of water.

 

• Military Products—directed energy systems and more. We have worked with the United States Navy to develop cooling systems for state-of-the-art, non-lethal directed energy systems. 

 

• Renewable Energy—wind turbines and more. Our technology cools the inverters for Laurel Mountain Wind Farm in West Virginia, the largest wind farm in the country.
